Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P STYLE="margin:0 0 11 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) is an U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lead re-evaluation of the Central &amp; Southern Florida Project that provides a framework and guide to restore, protect and preserve the water resources of central and southern Florida, including the Everglades. It covers 16 counties over an 18,000-square-mile area. It’s goal is to capture and redirect fresh water to areas where it is needed most. Scientific and technical evaluations and assessments, as well as data collection, are performed by a mutli-agency team of scientists, modelers, planners, and resource specialists under the Restoration Coordination and Verificaton (RECOVER) program.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Attribution in the feature class includes the project names, key contacts, and other critical information for over 80 different projects. Additional information for each project and for the many programs involved is available on the internet at referenced sites - in particular www.evergladesplan.org. The updated version of this layer is maintained by the Land Acquisition Program on an Oracle SDE server, feature dataset is SFWBNDS and a feature class named CERPBnds.
